We have thought of a new way to gamble using the IRC. We will be introducing this game as soon as we finalize the details of it. It will basically be the exact same as regular texas hold'em except for a few diffrent things. In this thread I will be teaching you which commands in the IRC to use, and how to play Texas Hold'Em.
We will be using a diffrent IRC because we do not want to flood #dycegenesis with the rolls from poker. In this IRC you will only be able to talk when a host gives you a temporary voice rank to keep people from spamming or talking as it makes it hard for the host to write down the cards betters get if people are talking non stop.
Unfortunatly there will be no raising for now because every one will be able to see each others cards, so it will be a one time buy in per game.
--Commands and Protocol--
For this example imagine it was a 1m bet with 4 players.
After the host collects the bet from each player who wishes to participate in the hand they will go to the IRC and say something along the lines of
"4m pot, Buy in is closed"
Then the host will proceed to give a temporary rank to the betters one by one. When the host ranks you it means it is your turn to roll the dice to get your two cards. You do this by using the command "!roll 2d13" The bot will then roll the dice for you it will look something like this "(Your name)" rolls the two 13 sided dice [6+5=11] You would have the a 5 and 6 for your cards.
After each player has rolled the dice and gotten their two cards the host will then roll for the "community cards" Which are used in combination with Your two cards to make the best 5 card hand you can. It will look something like this"Kandeeh" Rolls the Five 13 sided dice
[5+2+9+4+3=23] The 5, 2, 9, 4, and 3 are the community cards. So matching it up with the example for the betters command on this hand they would have 1 pair of 5's. I will be puttin up a full list of every possible hand in order from best to worst at the end of this thread.
After every one has rolled and gotten their two cards the host will look over the hands and announce "Kandeeh wins with 1 pair of 5's" If that was the best hand in the current game. This part MAY up to a minute or two so please be patient, Because the hosts we choose to host this game will have to very carefully look over everyones 2 cards and determine the winner. The host themselves will be resposible if they are wrong on which hand is the winner and pay out to the wrong person.
For now that is all I can think of im sure I will be editing this and making changes, do to the fact I am currently at work and put this together in a bit of a rush. Also, soon I will be posting another thread for yet another game we may introduce. "Blackjack". That will come after poker has been up and running for a while though we have to get that running smoothly before we introduce more new games.
----Poker hands we will use in order from best to worst----
1.5 of a kind (five of the same #)(ex. 6-6-6-6-6)
2.4 of a kind (four of the same #)3.Full house ( 2 pair+3 pair)(ex. 5-5-5-4-4)
4.Straight (5 cards in numerical order)(ex. 2-3-4-5-6)
5.3 of a kind (3 of the same #)(ex. 3-3-3-7-4)
6.2 pair (2 diffrent pairs of cards)(ex. 5-5-4-4-2)
7.One pair (2 of the same card)(ex.2-2-4-5-3)
8.High card (Highest card if you have no other hand)(ex -3-4-8-5-9)
----Card values----
1=Ace (Ace can be used as either 1, or 11 on BlackJack)
2=2
3=3
4=4
5=5
6=6
7=7
8=8
9=9
10=10
11=Jack
12=Queen
13=King
